I did all of my private in the PA-12 and was taught to be at 75 mph on final but I can't find any specific reference to the speed. SNIP From my syllabus here are the recommended numbers: Vx=65 mph Vy=75 mph V glide = 60 mph Economy cruise 2200 rpm = 90-95 mph Normal cruise 2400 rpm = 105 mph Final 1.3 Vso = 65 mph Final 1.2 Vso (short field) 60 mph Trim - Note when flying solo from the front seat there is not enough aft trim to hold a 60-65 mph altitude while in the landing pattern. Engine failu Slow to 55 mph on final. 75 is way way too fast especially if you are the only occupant. For me, solo, 60 mph seemed to work well for full stall landings. For wheel landings solo add 5 mph. cheers.... jack, Colchester, Connecticut, U.S.A. |
