Default Compaq aero question

I hooked BOTH (don't ask) of my compaq aero 1550 pda's up to 12 volts,
directly...
....neither works at all now.

Before I bust 'em open and start digging around in thier innards, does
anyone know if they have a fuse, where it is, or any other hints...

thanks,

Sorry to hear of the accident. If you find they are not repairable I'd
like the carcases for plastic case parts. Please don't throw them
away.

I've had one apart several times and never found an internal fuse. I'd
consider your unit officially fried.
System is 5 volts and 12 v would be fatal.

Definitely fried. 5volts max. Needs a converter.
