Now this one is an F8U. Notice the two cannons, size of the intake, and IR
sensor.

Indeed.

I believe the aircraft is an F-8C of VF-111 "Sundowners". The pilot
allocated to the aircraft was Lt Foster S Teague. "Tooter" Teague later
flew F-4Bs with VF-51, as a Cdr and squadron CO. On 11 June 1972, he and Lt
Ralph M Howell, flying F-4B "Screaming Eagle 114" (149473) from USS Coral
Sea, killed a MiG-17 during an Alpha strike on the Nam Dinh power station.

Teague was promoted to Captain and became CAG CVW-11 aboard USS Kitty Hawk.
He ended his service as Master of the USS Kawishiwi. Captain Teague died in
Bossier City, Louisiana on 29 August, 1998 at the age of 63.
