Moriarty AWOS: Winds 220/34G45

It's supposed to get up to about 55 kts today. If I could get safely to
the runway, I could take off backwards! Naaah... I think I'll stay home.

With enough steady wind, you could theoretically launch using nothing
but an anchored tow rope of sufficient length. Of course, if you were
(say) 100 feet high and the wind even momentarily slacked to zero...
