Default LX4000 System

Hi all

Anyone got any experience/tips/etc. on upgrading the software in the LX4000
from 5.8 to 8? Ive been to the LX website and it has some dire warnings
about using the upgrade software.

Cheers Peter.

Hi Peter,

according to my information (from FILSER) there was a major hardware
change from V5.x to V8 which makes the two versions incompatible.
Due to a software bug I was able to get a replacement (V5.? to V8.3)
and there are really some significant differences:
e.g. V8.x uses flash EPROMS for the data bases and the software, with
older versions you have to change the EPROMS.
I think the software update works only with V8.x devices.
