Default Soaring Spot

One really nice thing about Soaring Spot is the ability to download tasks directly from the website. How many pilots have entered a task incorrectly? And why again does the US have different rules than FAI? Just kidding.

Just curious why US contests don't use Soaring Spot?

There are other reasons not to use See You. It is a remote facility requiring good internet access to use. Some contests in the west are held in locations where this is problematic. Being a remote commercial operation, committing to it places your future in their hands. We attempted to use it for local contests and found support to correct the bugs spotty, and access intermittent. Might be different in Europe, big market, same time zones, etc.

Jonathan, can you point me to where/how you can download the daily task? I can see it displayed but not how to download it.

One con to soaring spot is that each IGC file has to be download individually, no way to download all IGC files for a given task or for a given day.

Thanks

Ron

Soaring Spot is like everything else Naviter. Slap dashed together with little thought for usability and no attempt to polish out the rough edges *ever*. L a z y.

Pet peeve: count the clicks as you review results of your favorite contest on Soaring Spot. It'll be a really annoyingly large number. In the US, everything fits all on one page.
