Question Commercial pilot
no... if the seal is missing.. he has no idea if it has been discharged..
pressure indicator may show "in the green".. but dials have been known to lie.. if his T.O. says the seal needs to be there... then it needs to be there.. and the PILOT is in CHARGE... not the ramp agent.. not the mechanic.. all he would need to do is get to EWR and have the mech down there write him up for bringing him a bad extinguisher to have to swap out.. then everything really hits the fan.. BT "old man" wrote in message news:fRVYb.349819$xy6.1747227@attbi_s02... Working The gate..........500 PVD-EWR......It's 25 minutes in the air....during school vacation oversold.........30 pax going on cruises.......20 pax with kids going to Disney......10 pax going to St Martin and only 1 flight out of EWR ......All the flights are oversold..........Pilot holds up flight because the plastic seal is missing on his fire extinguisher. It appears full.....the first officer's extinguisher is fine....local mechanic says it's ok.....general maintenance says it's ok.....he continues to have a hissy fit.....40 minute delay...... Question was he being a d__k Head or not? http://www.newbid.net/index.asp |
