What are the rules if I want to take and sell photos from an amateur
built experimental airplane? I wouldn't be carrying anyone, just
taking pictures or videos and selling them. Do I need a commercial?

Sure you need a commercial. Make it real zippy - you know 70's rock -
scantily clad women - the whole burrito! How else do you expect to
sell your services? Door to door - that went extinct with the Fuller
Brush man!
( I really don't know - just wanted to wake up the RAH yahoos)
