For those of you who got money for Christmas, here's something to
consider. I'd consider it myself, but it's a C and I want an E.

You guys did see the aircraft carrier auction, didn't you?

Boy.... That sure would be a topic of conversation, parked in the driveway
!!! :-))

The local homeowners' association, or the zoning folks, would likely
have a fit- just no sense of humor...

That all depends on where you are. Nobody's ever complained about the
family's tanks, or the guy up the road from my folks who flies an H-34
(Sikorsky S-58) from his backyard. Some folks did complain a bit
about the guy in hte next town who was flying his DC-3 out of _his_
back yard, but I think it had more to so with the Exotic Reptile
importatin business he had.

Interesting neighbours you got there Peter. We did have an
'adventurous' (read 'stunned') couple here who brought in a pair
of adult Bengal Tigers, put 'em in a home-made cage in their back
yard (inside city limits) and named them "Bonnie & Clyde".

That sort of folk has always creeped me out. I don't see any
circumstances where Tigers, say, make good pets. Or for that matter,
any predator more hungry than an Ocelot.

The reptiles (Snakes mostly) don't worry me too much. None are
venomous, and Pythons tend not to do well in a foot of snow.

Neighbours had a fit, they called the LOCAL city cops, who said
(really!) "Oh, this cage is quite safe". (local newspaper named
and quoted them!)

Brilliant. Bet then again, I'd be a bit disinclined to walk up to
that cage & gove it a shake, too. Not that that excuses them. Those
things are supposed to be taken care of before tha animals are brought
in.

Can you imagine the level of competency of these louts...not to
mention their Chief? (bout the same as the cats I'd say). Anyhow,
long story short, due to public pressure they got rid of them to
a zoo in Halifax.

Best outcome, I'd say.

What utter stupidity, can you imagine one of those things getting
out and killing some toddler? all I can say is it hadn't better
be my grandson...I'd be forced to spend what time I have left to
financially ruining the local police force and this city in the
courts.

Down here in the Excited Snakes, you're supposed to have special
permits & such for livestock with more than the usual potential for
danger. I'd be jumping all over whoever allowed that. Hitting them
in the COurts would, of couse, be just the beginning. I'd also use
the Press. And TV. If the CBC won't run it, the folks that
pick up the U.S. syndicated stuff, like Oprah and all that lot would.
