Default OSHKOSH/EAA, Motels/Ride/Eats at Portage, WI

Posting for a personal (and personable) friend of mine:
John Poppy is the airport manager at Portage, Wisconsin.

He has motel rooms and transport to/from Oshkosh.. and
room to tie down your airplane!

I usually arrange to arrive at Portage "sometime during the day", this
year on Wed, July 27. We spend the day touristing, then when we get
the "accepting arrivals" message from Oshkosh, we jump in the airplane
and go to Oshkosh! However, if OSH does not open for weather or some
other reason, a local motel and ground transportation to OSH is
available.

The airport designator at Portage, WI is "C47".

Hey Jer,

Maybe you could help me get out a little information. I have a Air
Conditioned Motorcoach (bus) that leaves from Portage at 7AM for the
Air Venture Show in OSH, on the 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th of July, and
it returns to Portage about 7PM. The bus trip costs $20. per person
per day.

We have very reasonable hotel/motel rates in the area ranging from $45
to $85. I have never run out of room for aircraft that would like to
tie down on the grass (bring your own tie downs). Fly to Portage and
leave the driving to us. Call the Portage airport at 608 742-3300 or
my cell at 608 617-8995.

Thanks

John Poppy
