Came across this paper:

Take a look at the proposed final design. Is someone recycling a BS1
for this project?

Does he have two left wings? Otherwise that thing is not going
anywhere but sideways...

I doubt they'd go to all the bother of designing and building the
whole car, then slap on a wing designed to fly in a comletely
different speed range. Green Bird was brilliant! 126 mph in 30 ish
winds. Wish I'd known they were there, the dry lake (Ivanpah) where
they set the record is only 10 - 12 miles from Jean, the airport I fly
from.

Good call. See the gliding connection here...(Diamant preservation
folks, don't look!)

And the "Diamant" just visible in red lettering on the side of the
cockpit is a bit of give away as well.

Ahhhh!!!!! I think that is one of the 16.5 Diamants that had been cut
down to 15 meters. Is that the one you had for a short time, Tim
Mara? Going by the first digit of the contest ID. And Luke flew with
us here at KSA out of Sunflower Gliderport. Go Luke!
