well when you only have a 3 point lead going into the final day...and there is a 3 point difference between 1st and 2nd on the final day...it definitely gets people to tune in and watch the race!

Doubly so because the second place pilot (Navel) going into the last day would win the contest if the leading pilot (Kava) was second because Nagel would have more wins in total. So the obvious tactic for Nagel of keeping a close eye on Kava and jumping him towards the end for the win could be negated by Kava hanging back to make sure he kept Nagel out of a situation where he could win. Kava could afford to follow Nagel in for some minor places with a one or two point gap because third place overall would be too far back to be a threat in the overall contest. So, third place Kiessling flew brilliantly and won the day, and Kava did the what necessary to make sure Nagel could not win the contest. As predicted really ..because noone knows more about how to not be beaten overall than Kava - but the guts of all those pilots flying in weak low level conditions over that terrain was amazing.
