Default Garmin 340 Audio Panel Self-Install ?

Hi,

Has anyone here installed his own Garmin 340 Audio Panel ? I have the unit
and the installation manual,
it seems to be easily installed, can I legally do it myself ?

And has anyone here already gone through the effort ?

Thanks,

Robert

You can probably install it yourself. I had the harness fabricated
(didn't have the proper crimper) and put it in. No brain surgery as
many would like you to believe. An A&P will make a logbook entry
after a recalculation of the W&B change. If you have an IA that does
your annual inspections, ask him/her if they'll "help".

Can you install it yourself legally. Absolutely and positively.

Can you fly the airplane afterwards? Not until an airframe mechanic returns
it to service by an appropriate entry into the aircraft maintenance records
(i.e. "signs it off").

I did it on my Helio. Bought the proper crimper and other tools on ebay
After the installation, the avionice shop that sold me the equipment signed
it off. It is straitforward, particularly if the other components are
Garmin too. You need to make sure that you have someone willing to sign it
off before you start.
