Default Mosquito rotorcraft

All,
I just saw a post in r.a.r about the mosquito. Neat little rotorcraft.
It looks to be well designed and built. Anyone have any personal
experience with them. the same q was asked in r.a.r, but i thought
since it IS a kit, and this is r.a.h that more people might have one in
this group. might be fun after i get my rotor add on to build one,
maybe not to the ultralight specs, looks like the se has more fuel and
range, therefore is experimental. anyhoo, thx for listening.

Why do I get the feeling that this is going to get ugly?

Well, i did search the group, and found only one personal statement
back to 2004, anything older might not be relevant. DAGS, found a bunch
of links to the home page, and people saying how neat it is. A bunch of
stuff on spraying with helos, not many personal testaments. I guess i
could buy one and then join the builders list.... im not looking to
build any electric/diesel electric helos either, no motorcycle engines
here, just the plain ol mosquito. looks like it might be fun on the
farm, and what a way to show up at weddings! Ha!

Somewhere I once read that a helicopter was a loosely associated collection
of parts that was only capable of flight by beating the air into submission.
my cousin,
now departed, flew copters in Viet Nam. I'm kinda' glad he never offered me
a ride,
not sure whether I'd have accepted or not.

Yes and no, it was a great feeling. It also stole the bride's thunder
a little (All focus left the bride and went to the little chopper).

Assuming you mean the Masquito (www.masquito.be)... Not sure where they
stand right now, as I have not seen any activity from them for years. Last
news entry 2003. Initially they were using a hot-rodded Jabiru 2200 to make
the thing fly. They then went into a lengthy design cycle to build a 'better
jabiru'. The engine has been 'coming soon' for the past several years, and
the engine design guys took of with the design to build their own. You draw
your conclusions.

Jesse,

Hop on over to the Rotary Wing Forum (www.rotaryforum.com) and do a search on
the Mosquito helicopter there. Several builders post their build and flying
progress from time to time.

Best regards,

John L.
