FYI...Does this "cheater technology" (sorry not my thoughts) have a gyro? *The Rules Committee is on a tear to make any software or hardware they cannot control (almost everything these days) illegal. *Our ability to choose open source software is coming to an end apparently, at least for contests.

You can fly OLC still :-)!

It will soon be illegal to run any of the free glide computer software (rule coming) such as XC Soar or LK8000.

I expect that they will begin outlawing "non approved hardware" or something to that effect.

I would be careful folks buying anything right now as the rules committee has its big red marker out...and they are all excited!

Sorry...I hate to be the bearer of bad news. *I was going to order one of these...but now I think I am going to hold off.

Sean, give it a rest, already! Now you are being just stupid. *There
is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about a BriteNav that will make it illegal, now
or in the future.

I plan on running one with SeeYouMobile, and it will be perfectly legal
at a contest.

Go ahead and order one, get SYM, and enjoy it!

I am surprised how little discussion there was about this unit is
considering how good the sun readable display of this unit is and how
low the price is. I guess everyone is busy talking about the software
ban.

I'd love to have one of these but, since I just spent $200 for a Samsung
Galaxy Player Android in December, it would be a total waste of money. Had
I seen this product sooner, I'd have bought one in a heartbeat.

The Samsung isn't perfectly readable in direct sunlight but, with a simple
hand shadow, it works just fine.
