Default Gariep Dam Aviation - Legendary soaring.

Some developments in the last while with respect to sites dedicated to
the pursuit of adventure soaring around the world.

In South Africa Gariep Dam Airfield and it's facilities are now owned by
Gunther von Versbach and operated by Gariep Dam Aviation.
The new website is http://www.gariepdamaviation.com

The Gariep Dam Aviation team are investing heavily in facilities, and
costs have been reduced. This makes the venue more accessible and a
holiday site for the whole family - not just the pilot.

The 1000k diploma factory just got upgraded for 2012 - The ambition is
to restore Gariep to being "Southern Africa's best gliding facilities -
Bestes Segelflugzentrum im südlichen Afrika".

Maybe time to start planning a little expedition?

Any suggestions for what should be done to make it easier/better for
visitors are welcome. Anyone with stories and or pictures of flights at
Gariep Dam - contact me and we can get them posted.

Disclaimer - I am the volunteer Safety Officer for 2012-13 season, and
built the website. I have no financial interest in Gariep Dam aviation.
But I will be flying there this season.
