What's all the fuss about this movie anyway

The photography runs from impressive to startling, but you won't
really appreciate it unless you see it in a theater or in High
Definition on a large screen that fills your peripheral vision. Just
viewing the DVD on a small screen could easily lead to a yawn unless
you have some personal interest in the history of this particular
airport.

I watched it when it was on Discovery HD , on a 50in plasma and yes, the
photography, particular of the Pitts was excellent

You have to be pretty close to a 50" screen to have it fill your
peripheral vision. I viewed it on a 4.5'X 9' projected image from
across the room. Stunning (at times)!

However, I enjoyed the images of aviation history (Earhart, Lindbergh,
Curtiss, "Pancho" Barnes, ...), some of which I had not seen before,
as much as the artful footage. That said, if you thought Flyboys was
aimed toward that portion of the viewing audience with a strong
affinity for aviation related lore, One Six Right seems to have been
geared toward an even smaller segment of that audience, those who
champion the existance of the existence of airports despite their
popular damnation by those who have moved into close proximity of
them. I think the quote about 'the runways at metropolitan airports
throughout the land being the biggest street in town' supports that
view.

Although One Six Right won't change the minds of the public, it's good
to see some positive PR for aviation finally seeping out of Hollywood,
er... Van Nuys.

But wait, there's more .... :-)

That page seems to take forever to load even with a 5 Mbs connection
so have patience. They did a lot better with the film than the web
page design.

Yeah. The entire site is done in Flash. When will people learn that
less is often more?
