Bad news from several of my customers, which has had the effect of
forcing me to sell my airplane & my car . Anyone want a 1968 PA-28-180
or a 1999 BMW M3?

Dang, Aaron -- several customers can hurt business enough to make you sell
your airplane?

These must've been some awesome customers!

I've had years where more than 80% of my income came from *1* customer
-- probably around a dozen of them. Low-end retail has *lots* of
customers, high-end retail has fewer, and contract software
development tends to have *very* few -- particularly for a one-person
outfit. Because one person simply can't do that many things at once.
Dunno what Aaron does, but I've known a lot of people dependent on
fairly few customers in various fields.

(And Aaron, best of luck! Hope you find some new customers quick.)

The cycle time for my customers is a minimum of 6 months, sometimes 18 months.
We have one contract we've been trying to get finalized since May 2004.

My company designs & builds esoteric diagnostic, monitoring, and control
equipment for the public utility sector; we also do contract R+D, contract
software development, and contract hardware development, generally for the
same area. Come see us at Distributech 2006 in Tampa!

Fixed. GoDaddy's @!%&^$# redirects are still not showing www.psinteg.net.

My former employer had a total of 7 customers in 1990. Only 4 of those were
funding new products. Things got worse as time went on.

We got another cow ...donated in our name. That's two cows in two
years. Is that a herd yet? I'm calling it a herd!

Sorry, you have to have one bull and one cow to start a herd.

I've got plenty of bull.... :-)

Hope the herd's ok tonight.

Nowadays you just get the bull in a bottle. Cuts way down on the overhead.

I forgot about that, and one of my fellow scouter's works for a company
that sells the stuff.

For weeks you were looking 'under' the bed for your present.

I think Chanukah is just the ticket for you.

Ah, the gift that keeps on giving (as I try to keep my 14 month old off the
keyboard...)
