Default Airbus 380 weight

The Airbus 380 takeoff weight is pegged at 1,235,000 lbs. For
comparison purposes, the C5A has a maximum takeoff weight of 769,000
lbs.

The maximum landing weight listed for the AB 380 is 891,000 lbs.,
which is more than the maximum takeoff weight of the C5A.

So perhaps it is the case that the reason the AB 380 cannot land at
many airports is it's weight, although the wingspan may cause problems
too.

Can't remember where I read that the AB 380 could only land at
airports that had properly reinforced concrete runways, and that there
weren't many of them.

It depends mostly on how the LG destributes weight. The AN225 weighs more
than the 380 and it can land on dirt because it distributes its weight over
a large area.

Cool. I need to try out the FAA Group V Judgemental Oversteer method (while
taxiing) in the Archer!
