It's all about the flags. Any command that entitles an officer to the broad command pennant (ComDesRon, ComSubRon, ComPhibRon, ComPatWing, etc.) carries with it the title of commodore. AFAIK these are always O-6 commands. Even if they are O-7s? Nope, then they are flag officers, no command pennant. --Justin |
