Torque Value for Mounting an O-320 wide deck.
Dear Group,
I am in the process of building my cowling and have the engine up on the mount. What I need to know is what is the amount of torque on the engine mount bolts? I have rebuild manuals, parts manuals and the owners manual but can't find a torque for tightening. The engine is a dynafocal mount O-320-E2D which is a wide deck. Also after the bolts are torqued, will I be able to remove the engine and use the same rubber mounts upon final installation? Or simply tell me where I could find that information. Thanks. -- John "Ebby" Ebensperger Hatz Classic s/n37 Camden, NY |

You can reuse the rubber mounts, no problem.
I would torque the mount bolts using a standard torque for that size bolt, whatever it is. The Lycoming installation drawing for that engine should be of great help as well. You torque that far you'll be metal to metal and ruin the pads at the same time... come on, guys, this was discussed before, wasn't it? Richard |
