Default aftermarket de-ice for Twin Comanche

Hello,

In my continueing search for information on Twin Comanches I've come
across a question on de-ice. I notice some Twin Comaches have it and
others don't.

Is there an after market company that sells the boots, etc? Or were
they all installed at the factory?

Also, what is the difference between de-ice systems certified for known
ice and those that aren't? (I'm not planning to go look for icing,
just curious).

And finally... rough cost of these aftermarket de-ice system?

Thanks!

Go to the Comanche Owner's Forum in the Motor Transport section of
delphiforums.com. There are a number of threads on this very question.
Use the search function for de-ice or boots.

The general consensus is that adding boots is too expensive to be
practical. If I remember correctly, it is somewhere north of 30 AMUs.
Buy one with the boots already installed. There is also a possibility
that the new electric de-icing might be available in the future. The
weeping wings system doesn't seem to be likely any time soon.
