Default Back to basics?

When is the last time you really read the legend on your sectional or
WAC? Are you up to speed on changes for the different charts and what
they tell you? Could you pass a current check flight right now for all
the ratings you hold or brag about?

No. I can't even tell ya what the V-speeds are for the different birds
I fly. On final I just pull back till I either hear the buzzer or get
that sinking feeling, then feed in another 5-10 knots. I can feel out
vx and vy in a most analogous way.

I pretty much have the sectional memorized for the areas that I fly. So
I figure that if I don't carry it in the cockpit, I don't need to keep
it up to date with those subscriptions.

Checklist?

I know what you mean. There's a guy that occassionally posts here claiming
to be a CFI extraordinaire that didn't know what a forward-slip was.
