Default Red Bull Air Race

Did anyone see the webcast of the Red Bull Air Race in Budapest this
afternoon? I saw the blurb in the AOPA Friday email and decided to
take a look. All I can say is WOW....WOW.....WOW. It's a darn shame
that, for a variety of reasons, that we will never see anything quite
like this in the U.S.

These guys were flying a slalom course over the Danube River with the
start and finish line going under a bridge. Absolutely astounding. I
don't feel like much of a pilot after watching that.

Actually, I've already got video on our site of some loon flying under a
bridge...

But if we can find video of an air race using the bridge for a finish
line -- well, that certainly trumps the loon, now doesn't it?

They are an interesting bunch of people there, although these guys went over
the bridges instead of underneath them, it still must have been a
spectacular sight as well. Following pictures were taken at an event in
Budapest to celebrate their joining the EU.

That loon was in the race! I don't recall his name, but he's a
Hungarian national hero. They mentioned in the commentary that he
previously flew under the bridge inverted.

Check out this website. Have to have a fast connection. On my
computer, for some reason, I have to click to full screen button to
get a picture, then I can hit escape to go backto the default window
size which looks better.

There are a number of video files on the right side of the page. The
highlight video is the worst (too artistic and doesn't give a good
sense of what kind of flying is actually going on). Look at the
Winners Run and the qualifying videos.

What a crappy web site. Won't even let me in the front door running
Mozilla. (Even 'though I am sure I could view the content just fine
if they would only let me see it...)

Anyone have a mirror of the videos, or perhaps could provide a URL to
them on the redbullairrace site so I can view them on my computer?

Thanks!
