Default Tillamook Oregon???

My wife has been wanting to go to the Tillamook Cheese factory in Tillamook.

Can any of you Oregon chaps tell me if I can rent a car or get a Taxi at the
airport?

I looked on their web page, and there was no mention of any sort of
transportation. I tried calling them and get an answering machine.

Thanks much.

I've been out of the loop too long, but If you don't get a good answer
here, try calling the Lodge at Salishan.

AOPA Directory sez there are taxis available (probably come out from town)
and there is also a number for a rental car service. Tillamook is a very
quiet GA airport.

Try the Tillamook Air Museum at 503-842-1130. The FBO is pretty small but
the museum is large. They've also got a little diner in the blimp hangar.

They're on a different part of the airfield, but since they have a P-38,
B-25, bf-109 (span), Spitfire, P-47 Thunderbolt, Mustangs, Catalina, an F-7,
a Spad and two or three blimps plus a bunch of other airplanes all in the
same hangar, you're going to end up there whether you're ready to admit it
to yourself or not.

Otherwise, it's a long way to town, but I'm pretty sure I've seen a rental
agency there.

Tillamook is an absolutely spectacular flight and the airfield is really
neat, but you want to pay close attention to the weather and call the field,
because it can be sunny everywhere else and socked in at the field, or just
the opposite. As for the cheese, I recommend Port Wine on Ritz crackers
with fresh dungeoness crab for a perfect lunch.
