Default Presentation Tips

Hello All,

I am giving a presentation about soaring to the local EAA chapter tomorrow. I would like to educate the local power pilots about what we do as a glider club as well as what gliders are capable of doing, while providing entertaining anecdotes along the way. I have a keynote, and basically know what I want to say, but does anyone have any tips from their personal experience about making a presentation about soaring entertaining and educational to a group of power pilots?

Thanks,

Phil

The only thing better than a couple of beers is 3 or 4.
I would bring a ice chest full of beers and some snacks and some pizzas.
Get those EAA guys loosened up and fed and all they want to do is talk flying.
Remind them that quite a few gliders are experimental, right up their alley.
Also remind them Towing gliders is fun, action packed, and can be a money maker done right.
Good Luck!

I have given several presentations like this over the last year. My best advice is to use videos and imagery to help describe what we experience in our "silent cockpits." Youtube has lots of videos that you can use strategic snippets of to tell our story.

Best of luck.

Remind them that Dick VanGrunsven, the designer behind the RV series, flies gliders.

And yes, there are homebuilt kit gliders available, and some darn good ones, too.

Thanks, Bob K.

Thanks guys. We will see how it goes.

Bruno, you already are booked with one of your fantastic videos for a few minutes of the talk. Good point Bob, I'll be sure to bring up the RV.
