I have a b0rken hx4705 that I'd like to get repaired if that's cheaper
than getting a replacement on ebay. The display is cracked and non-
functional (a casualty of my Mother's Day bounce), but it works on
activesync.

Does anyone have any recent experience with a repair house? I've
google'd a few possibilities but if anyone has direct experience with
one I'd like to hear more.

I've used pocket pc techs. The turn around was quick and
communications on issues and repair were outstanding throughout the
process. http://www.ppctechs.com/home.htm

I used www.pdasmart.com several years ago to do a board level repair
(headphone daughter board to main board connector broken) on my
daughters iPod. Fast turn around. Very reasonable price ($25 to do
board repair). Good communication (via email) with repair status.
They work on iPaqs. Everything done right! I would definitely use
then again if the need arose.

Just a note: The LCD is a pretty expensive component (compared to
other items inside a PDA) - so I would check with those guys to see
what the LCD replacement cost is gonna be... It might be cheaper to
get another hx4705 from eBay.

Good luck,
