Are competitors required to have transponders?

PowerFlarm is required.

Mobile tracking devices are required (Android or iOS). Satelite trackers (InReach) are not a substitute for the mobile tracking requirement.

We are considering partnering our event with Garmin and a Garmin strategic partner to test a brand new tracking technology product during this event. This system, if used, will be free to the pilot and will require no holes or complex installations (very simple).

PowerFlarm "Stealth mode" is NOT allowed (per the recommendations in the original PowerFlarm manual).

Transponders are not required but are encouraged. The SGP management will continue to closely coordinate with Orlando (and other) air traffic controllers in regards to the task each day as well as the progress of the SGP USA competitors on the task throughout the day.
