Default gameport or USB adapter?

I just got a new Dell that seems to lack a gameport adapter. Obviously
new controls would be good - but I'm not so hardcore or deep pockets
that I wouldn't prefer some way to hold onto my existing set-up (A
thrustmaster FCS & WCS & CH non-Pro Pedals). I've seen multi-port
adapters that plug into one of the computer's USB ports. Has anybody
had experience with these things? Would it be easier to just get a
dedicated PCI gameport?

I've used a USB to Gameport adaptor on a laptop. Works well with my
home made analog yoke/throttle and rudder pedals with 4 buttons.
It's a very cheap and effective option.

My Wingman came with an adapter cable Gameport to USB. Works fine.
