Spouse wants you work in the yard all weekend.
You want to go flying.

It has been ages since you saw your mother. Why don't we hop in the
plane and visit her?

Why don't I get some proficiency training in this weekend, so we're ready
when the time comes for our visit - next August.

I spent all that money on my pilot's license... but I won't be safe if I
don't practice. You do want me to be safe, don't you?

I'll go flying this weekend... and I'll let you go shopping next weekend.

This weekend there's no TFR over our area. We never know when they'll pop
up, I need to fly while I can!

The engine in the plane will corrode if it's not flown at least every
other week.

It's almost winter and there are only a few more good weeks of flying
left.

With the price of gas going up, it will only get more expensive the
longer I wait.

Tom Cruise flies....you want me to be like him, right?

Because infrequent flying is hard on the engine, and you don't want to
know how much it costs to overhaul an engine!

I don't understand the problem, just give her a list of what you want done
in the yard, let her know you want it completed by the time you get back.
This way you can fly a little longer to give her time to finish the list of
chores. Then head off to the airport and give your girlfriend a call, so
she can meet you, and buy your gas, and you are all set for a great day of
flying. You can even make it an overnighter, just make sure the wife has
enough to do to keep her busy. Problemed solved. enjoy your flight.

Who needs a reason just treat her right and you can fly as often and as long
as you want. Grin
