AND more difficult to know what you are getting.
In Michigan it WAS a requirement to have a sticker on the pumps that
told the purchaser the fuel had alcohol in it. NOW the stickers only
say the fuel meets Michigan rule standard something-or-other.

Now you really don't know what's in there.

OTOH, ethanol is blended at the truck terminal, not at the refinery, so if
you're buying a truck tank full, you can get unoxygenated fuel (with
commesurately lower octane... the ethanol boosts the octane a couple
numbers).
