Can anyone please give me specific step by step instructions on how to
install this patch. Exactly which file should I rename to "original."
Where is it exactly?

documents!!

Dave,
In order to install this patch, you must have a basic understanding of
how to copy and paste files, and how to navigate directories using Windows
Explorer. If your No-CD patch is zipped, you must also know how to unzip
files using programs like WinZip. If you don't know how to use Windows
Explorer, or how to unzip files, then you shouldn't be trying to install any
type of patches.

Step #1: Backup your original "FS9.exe" file. Do this by finding the
directory that you have Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 installed in. It is
usually found he C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator 9/
Make a copy of the file "FS9.exe" found in this directory by clicking on
it once, so that it is highlighted. Then right-click on this original
FS9.exe highlighted file, and choose "Copy" from the drop-down menu. Then
navigate to a directory where you want to store this file, and right-click
on that directory and select "Paste" from the drop-down menu. Be sure to
keep this "original" file safe, in case everything gets screwed up, so that
you can always copy the original FS9.exe back to its original directory.

Step#2: Take the "No-CD" patch, and make sure that it is named "FS9.exe" if
it is not already so named. If the No-CD patch comes as a ZIP file, you must
unzip it first. You can unzip this file by using a program like WinZip.

Step #3: Take the the No-CD patch that is named FS9.exe, and copy it to your
C:/Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator 9/ directory. When asked if you want to
overwrite the file, select "Yes".

Step #4: Run Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. If it doesn't run without the
CD, then copy the original FS9.exe that you have stored in a safe place back
to the C:/Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator 9/ directory.
