From the article : " There is no shortage of wind in the densely-populated
Netherlands but there is a shortage of space and in a nation which likes its
houses small and its gardens cosy, opposition to wind farms is immense"

Anyone else find it ironic that such opposition would exist in a country
that is famous for its windmills?

BTW - I wouldn't be opposed to them. I think they look pretty cool.

Besides that, they keep the sharks and other fish well fed with a
constant supply of dead seagulls...

Let me tell you having a windmill close to your house is no fun.

I'm living about 200yards from one(the classic kind).
If the sun is low and that thing is running it looks like the lights
are being switched on and off at 1Hz cycles.

They make good nav points though.
