Default ID help please

Saw this at Duxford. Can't spot a rego for it and I can never get these
rigth.
Is it a J4 ?

If the s/n on the tail is correct (44-80173), it's a Piper L-4J
Grasshopper.

Civil designation is Piper J-3 "Cub".
