Default idea: single occupant VTOL.. (will it fly?)

Hi Folks,

I recently had a vision - in fact, it was the week of the Wright
Brothers 100th anniversary - for what it's worth... single occupant
VTOLs...

Look at the quicktime video and tell me if my idea has merit.

http://www.worlddatabase.com/flyz.mov

It was a strange vision - and I think it will fly.

FYI - The pilot stands in the vehicle...

I'm not an engineer or a pilot, and would like to hear the thoughts of
others smarter than me.

Will it fly?

I need a job anyway, so if someone can hire me to build these things,
I'm ready to get to work. ;-)

I don't know why I needed to bounce that off the WORLD to see the obvious.

It would just hover.. then crash....

Lots of things will fly.

There are some other concerns.

true... but you have to admit - from a purely "hover" perspective -
it's pretty good. :-)

I'm not giving up on the idea. It comes down to power weight and
safety issues. :-)

The general idea of the mass sitting below the lift - increasing
vertical stability makes a lot of sense to this non eduiated brain.
Most VTOL's today are unstable as hell because the lift is at the same
level as the load. Unbelievably stupid to this brain anyway. Like
Mollers crap.

Maybe Rumsfeld has some military surplus.
