Default Biplane rides in Boston Area?

Anyone know of any "credible" operators in the Boston area who sell
rides in a historic biplane like a Waco or Stearman? Old Rhinebeck
is probably too far to go. Looking to buy an hour or so of time as a
gift for my cousin's son.

Thanks,

Alan Bloom

There's an operation at the Hampton, NH airport that offers rides in a
New Standard biplane.

At Chatham on Cape Cod there used to be scenic and/or aerobatic rides in
an open cockpit Great Lakes biplane. I enjoyed it 4 or 5 years ago.
Don't know if they're still at it though.

They also have some sort of arrangement for dual training in a
Stearman. I think it's $175 an hour. (No solo!) Give them a call. The
airport manager is George Forrest, five days a week. On weekends
you'll talk to the airport owner or his wife.

Hi Dan,

Glad to hear you say that about the Dual Stearman training. I had heard
about that but they don't post that on the price board in the shack. I'd
love that...

Thanks

You can book the Stearman through the office. I think it's $175/hr
dual.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. FYI. They no longer offer
rides in the New Standard. One Stearman has been sold and the other
is currently for sale.

There was one on the Cape at Marton's Mills, then a renter totalled it
upon landing. Bill Mcgrath (Island Airlines) has one on Ack, don't
know if you can rent it or not. I'll never loan out my Staggerwing,
never.

Have a great one!

I'm not sure Martha's Vineyard quite qualifies as "Boston area", but it
would definitely be worth the trip to Katama for a ride in the Waco:
