Default Outrageous City Hangar Rule

Last week, my name finally rose to the top of the shade hangar list at South
Valley Regional Airport (U42) in West Jordan, Utah. U42 is a few miles south
of Salt Lake International (KSLC).

When we went to see the airport manager to sign the contract and get our
badges, he told us an interesting story:

When they built new hangars a few years ago, the city became concerned about
the possibility of fire, so some official proposed a rule that all aircraft
be defueled before entering a hangar!

Fortunately, someone with a little sense vetoed the proposal.

into a garage.
