This aircraft is identified as a "Spad" by the photographer. Photo made in

SPAD is a nickname for the Douglas AD/A-1 Skyraider, it stands for Single
Place Attack Douglas.

It always amazed me (as we cat'd them off the decks of carriers) how the
Spad seemed capable of carrying its own weight in amour. That, plus I
was flabbergasted that the things could fly with so much stuff on the
wings as it seemed to me like there'd insufficient clean air under the
wing to fly.

Wrong credit here! (memory if a fragile craft)

"Danang Airfield 1972....... Copied from 37th ARRS yearbook" NOT

Those two colored snapshots of Danang "Sandy" SPADS were NOT part of the
yearbook, but were personal pictures belonging to SSGT Schiller, shown
standing by the Super Jolly in this attached picture. He was kind enough to
digitize the entire yearbook and make it available to others. Included on
his disk were some personal photos which made tears flow.
