Default Portland Hillsboro (HIO) Parking/FBO Recommendations

"Squirrel" wrote in message

I will be flying into Portland Hillsboro (HIO) for a few nights. Is
there a transient area or must I park at an FBO? I will be walking to
the Max/TriMet station, so the closer the better. Any FBO
recommendations?

Eagle Flight Center is there, but I'm pretty sure there is still transient
tie-down near the main airport terminal area. (Look for the mushroom-shaped
fueling island.)

The road right outside the terminal and adjacent to Eagle is a major
thoroughfare with Tri-Met access that will take you right to the Max line.

Transient parking is now on the outer ramp northeast of the mushroom.
Just ask HIO Ground for directions.

For those familiar, the parking area to the east of the mushroom and
just outside the terminal building has been given over to the Intelonion
Shuttle jets.

For those not familiar, "The Mushroom" is a structure built many years
ago to provide a rain shelter for passenger loading and fueling. Though
it hasn't been used for that purpose for a long time now. Mostly, you
see Hangar 53 parking their fuel trucks under it.
