KBR worker killed in Iraq
Associated Press

Houston - A civilian affiliated with Houston-based

Halliburton has
been shot and killed today in Iraq.

Halliburton spokeswoman Wendy Hall says the

victim worked for
subsidiary Kellogg Brown and Root.

Halliburton, which is the former company of

Vice President Dick
Cheney, has major contracts for reconstruction

in Iraq and
Afghanistan.

Hall declined to release the name of the victim.

She says the victim was fatally shot while

driving a vehicle, in
Baghdad, that was being escorted by military

personnel.

She says he was dead on arrival at a nearby

combat support hospital.

The worker was with K-B-R's team supporting

the Army's mail delivery.

Hall says the shooting is under investigation.

Another K-B-R worker was killed on August

fifth when a remote-control
bomb exploded under the truck he was driving

north of Tikrit.
