Record held by Rick Agnew of Canberra ~33,000 feet.

But like you say, nothing on the GFA website, or anywhere else I have
found...

Guys

You're not looking closely enough

From www.gfa.org.au home page, choose GFA Information link, then in
the table that appears, choose the one that says Australian Records
Information. This is a link to a separate site maintained by David
Jansen, who is the GFA FAI Records Officer.

Look in the Australian Records - Open category and you'll find Rick's
Absolute altitude of 10058 m and L. Armour's Gain of Height of 7750 m.

Rick is still earnestly chasing the Gain of Height crown whenever the
wave at Bunyan looks promising.

Cheers
