A paragliding safety officer I know refers to this as "Yee-hah, thud" Syndrome. A yell of "Yeee-hah!" is frequently followed by the sound "Thud".

Yeppers.....my thought......

Safety systems in this video......what systems? The ground?, yep, he didn't keep falling.....ground broke off blades.....yep, they broke rather than slice the "pilot" up.....beyond that...."say what!!!!"...:

Safety systems in this video......what systems?



CG above center of lift is easy to fix by landing upside down on the test dummy.

Just to make sure , they verified it twice with same result.

The safety system appears to be a really robust test pilot.

Old guys best stick to thermals.

The exposed and unshielded rotor blades should really help the Dubai Police with crowd control. Until the first "hit," anyway.
