Default RAAF Catalina 'mining up' - pipe under the wing(?)

The fellow on the right, just above his head, there's some sort of
pipe attached to the underside of the wing running fore & aft. Anyone
know what it is? P.

The fellow on the right, just above his head, there's some sort of
pipe attached to the underside of the wing running fore & aft. Anyone
know what it is? P.
