Default Atlantic City Lights

Decided as part of my Wings refresher training to dust off the night flying
skills and give them a once over. I am based near Philly and flew to
Atlantic City (KACY). As we were approaching from the NW I noticed a bank
of very large and bright floodlights pointing back toward me. They were
about three miles to the West of the field. They really screwed me up as
they obscured the visual approach by washing out the field light, despite
the distance.

Anyone from that neck of the woods know what the heck those lights are (they
definately aren't from the casinos as they are too far away)?

Mike

I was on a commercial flight last week into PHL and saw them as we were being
vectored over NJ. I knew where ACY was, but could not pick out any airport
lighting with those large white lights in the general area. I too was
wondering?

I think it could be a fairly new driving range on the south side of the AC
expressway. Were the lights facing north?

I was to the south when I saw them. Couldn't tell which way they were facing,
but nonetheless bright.

They were facing roughly North. The driving range sounds likely. Thanks
