War games in India 'show up US'
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3834843.stm
The success of India's air force against US fighters in an exercise suggests the US may be losing its air superiority, a US general has said. Gen Hal Hornburg said an exercise in February, known as Cope India, had been "a wake-up call". The mock air battles in central India had pitted US F-15s against advanced Russian-designed Sukhoi SU-30s. General Hornburg said the results show the US may not be as far ahead of the rest of the world as it had thought. |

No surprise. The US feel far ahead of everyone, but in the facts, they have
nothing so special. In weaponry, the Russians are doing quite well. This is why the US could not invade them for having WMDs. They know that they would not be able to. This is excellent! Yes it is - it'll get the perfect knee-jerk reaction to guarantee the F-22 and JSF get funded. |

Gee, I wonder. "US kicks the crap out of top of the line SU-30 fighters
with old F-15s"....that headline would KILL the F-22. "phil hunt" wrote in message g... Why is it that the most militarily inept Canadians keep posting in this group? In weaponry, the Russians are doing quite well. Yes, quite well. Right. This is why the US could not invade them for having WMDs. They know that they would not be able to. Uh ... Russia is on the UN Security Council and is a long-standing nuclear power. There's been no thought of "invading" them. |

Russia has excellent military hardware, the only problem with it is that they do not have the funding necessary to keep it in good condition, the best example of this is their navy. However, for countries that do have the money to maintain their hardware Russian equipment is cheap to buy and quite good in comparison to western technology. |
