I've worked on many hekicopter models with pop out floats. Float
inspections are not fast and man hours do cost, Thaey can and do work. Occasionally due to various reasons, only ONE float will deploy. INSTANT inversion upon water landing GUARANTEED. SO,,,when your mind is ready for a water landing and you squeeze the trigger, that HAS TO BE KEPT IN MIND so it won't shock the **** out of you. OF COURSE. your passengers are the other story.
