Sorry but I don't get it at all. Why was it even published in the
first place?

It's a TV Station News blog. Te reporter liked the picture. He thought
it was cool. It's not like they ran it on the front page of the NYT.

I see, a 'cool' cloud formation. It must really suck to be him. *A
pity he can't imagine something more important to tell the masses
about ... (Like why more men die from prostate cancer than women from
breast cancer)

Well spanky as soon as you get that NIH grant and perform the research
and write the peer reviewed article (oh wait, you'll need to spend
about 10 years in school first) then he can report on it.
.

Spanky? BwhaHHAHAHAHHAHA.

Would you like me to tell you a simple way to massively reduce the
risk of your expiring from prostate cancer? No?

C'mon that picture it's about opium for the masses not beauty!

Well I guess I just don't get 'cool' in that photo. More of a yawn
really.

So everything that get's posted to the internet must be of interest to
you? Wow, you must be ****ed all the time.

Not at all but as a part time professional photographer (i.e. I have
been paid for photographs) I may be allowed an opinion. Are you
perchance trying to grind an axe with me?

Cheers

Your skill or lack of skill as a photographer has nothing to do with it.
Your posts in this thread seem to show that because you don't like the
photo that the guy at the TV station is in someway lesser than you for
posting it and anyone that did find it "cool" is in some way not as
smart as you.

No you are mistaken, I don't actively dislike the photo. The use of
'cool' and 'incredible' just adds to the yawn really. I could
understand the 'cool' better if it were a remarkable (or even
incredible) photo for composition or execution but that's not the
case. It's just a snap someone took and which someone else fills their
column inches with to garner their pay. So, as I look at it I see no
effort/skill in taking it or publishing it, just something to fill
column inches and maybe avoid having some really informative
publishing. If I am uncool for saying it as I see it then so be it,
but my opinion is no less for its honesty. I'd like to suggest that a
bit more honest criticism of the press could go a long way to fixing
some of the canker in today's society.

"I don't like it" and "why was it even posted" are not even remotely
equivalent. To state your opinion is fine, but to act like it's unworthy
of being displayed because you don't like it is, to say the least, rather
odd.

If you followed the thread you would see that I never said "I don't

Nice... Once again gatt, if you liked that one, perhaps you'll really
like this one.

Surreal, is what comes to mind. I hear them blades are as big as the
wings on 747s.

Pics taken from an Apache helicopter.

You are of course welcome to tell the masses about it yourself, and I doubt
you have any information that might indicate what he can or "can't imagine"

It was a freakin' PHOTOGRAPH for fcksake. If you would rather view photos
of prostate cancer tumors, please advise.

I doubt that what you think is cool is particularly interesting to anybody
in these forums.

More of a yawn really.
