One-time database updates are $35. You can download them and install them
using the card reader supplied with the GPS. No more sending chips back and
forth.

I agree with the positives about the 500. For the money, it's the best unit
out there.

I actually ordered one over the weekend and received it yesterday and will
probably spend some time playing with it over the next day or so.
