Default 4 place glider

"Akron, Ohio: Honors the citizens of Akron and the first towed glider
flight from Akron to Columbus carrying U.S. Mail in a Gross 4-place
glider in 1935."

This text copied from a listing on Google (Searched under Gross-4
glider) of Soaring honors. Text came from a document in the Soaring
Museum.

Purdue University gliding club is reported to have bought one in 1937.
Soaring magazine reports in 1938 that Purdue had this 4 seater and a
2 seater in their club inventory.

Anyone know a person who was a member of the Purdue club in 1938?
Would have to be about 85, at least.
