Default More UK Air Information available (UK IAIP) on line

Mike Cross, a GA pilot and sometime glider pilot who
did so much to help us all with the NOTAM site problems,
has now sent out the following announcement of further
improvements to the UK AIS system and web site.

to UK AIS Web Site

What's New

25/11/04 - Site Update
UK AIP Updated
AIRAC 12/2004 valid from 25th Nov until 22nd Dec 2004.

Cutting and pasting data from most files within the
IAIP is now available but extracts are not for commercial
use. The UK Integrated Aernautical Information Package
is copyright of the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority.

PIB Help has been revised and a new Tutorial facility
has been introduced.

This is good news.

I have been pressing for some time for the AIP pages
to allow 'Cut and Paste' so that you could do things
like this:-
Quote:
1.1.1 Except for airport purposes (GEN 1.2.1.1) prior
permission is not required for private flights by aircraft
registered in States which are parties to the Chicago
Convention for overflying the United Kingdom or for
making non-traffic stops in United Kingdom territory.
Permission for such flights by aircraft registered
in States not parties to the Chicago Convention should
be sought in accordance with the procedure as set out
in GEN 1.2.3.1 paragraph 8 for commercial flights.

This should allow the knowledgable purveyors of information
on this forum to be even more authoritative.

There's also a new set of tutorial screens as well
as updated Help and FAQ. Unfortunately the gremlins
have struck and getting to them is not as easy as it
could be, with links on the login screen going to some
of them and links on the drop-down menus going to the
remainder. They're working on that and it should be
fixed soon.
